WELCOME TO THE FAMILY FARE ONLINE LEARNING CENTER

For best results, access the system using the Google Chrome browser. Use the information below to get set up.

1. DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL GOOGLE CHROME

Visit this link and click DOWNLOAD CHROME to download the installation file.

If prompted, click Run or Save.

If you chose Save, double-click the download to start installing.

The Chrome browser should open when installation is complete.

2. UPDATE YOUR FLASH SETTINGS FOR GOOGLE CHROME

In the address bar, type chrome://settings/content. See image below.

On the Content settings screen, find the Flash Player listing. Check the status. See image below. You want to make sure Chrome is set to "Allow Sites to Run Flash".

3. DISABLE POP UP BLOCKERS IN GOOGLE CHROME

Open your Chrome browser and click on the menu icon represented by three lines on the top right corner of the screen. See image below.

Next, click "Settings" from the drop-down options.

 On the settings page, scroll all the way down. You'll see advanced settings. See image below.

On the advanced settings page, scroll down till you see privacy. Under privacy, click the content settings button.

 You'll see a new list of options. Scroll down till you see popups. Click the circled button pictured below.

On this new page, you'll see a section with the heading "Allow". Click the add button (pictured below). Add the following URL https://familyfare.v2.tortal.net. Then click add. You've now allowed pop ups for this site.

OPTIONAL: SET YOUR DEFAULT BROWSER TO GOOGLE CHROME - WINDOWS 10

1. On your computer, right click the Start menu in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.

2. Click Settings from the menu.

3. Open your default apps:

  • Windows Original version: Click System > Default apps.
  • Windows Creators Update: Click Apps > Default apps.

4. Towards the bottom, under "Web browser," click your current browser (typically Microsoft Edge).

5. In the "Choose an app" window, click Google Chrome. Settings are now automatically saved.

If you are using Windows 8 or below

1. On your computer, click the Start menu in the lower left-hand corner of your screen.

2. Click Control Panel.

3. Click Programs > Default Programs > Set your default programs.

4. On the left, select Google Chrome.

5. Click Set this program as default.

6. Click OK.

OPTIONAL: SET YOUR HOMEPAGE TO FamilyFare.tortal.net

To change your homepage in Google Chrome, open your Chrome browser and click on the menu icon represented by three lines on the top right corner of the screen.

Next, click "Settings" from the drop-down options.

 On the "Settings" screen, scroll down and check the box labeled "Show Home button". See image below. Click the circle next to "Enter custom web address". Then enter https://familyfare.v2.tortal.net as seen in the image below. This change will save automatically.

Now, anytime you're on Google Chrome, simply click the house icon on the top left of your screen to be immeditaly taken to your OLC.
